  • You may have noticed that dolls named Labubu have gone viral on social media lately, but what is the story behind them? So, let’s begin, shall we?

Back in 2015, the Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung first created Labubu. It was part of a series called “The Monsters,” inspired by Northern European folklore. This character was also introduced in children’s books and then became a toy. However, it became popular when it collaborated with the toy company Pop Mart in 2019.

Later, it was re-created as a charm for ladies’ bags. When the Thai singer Lisa from the girl band Blackpink was seen with Labubu, it created a further buzz, making this bag charm a global obsession.

Labubu is a female character with pointed ears, a fluffy body, and nine teeth. Despite their mischievous look, Labubu is described as a monster with a kind heart.

It is frustrating when someone suddenly realizes that summer has started, and he has no idea what to do. Although you have been thinking about it for the last two months, you will not accomplish what you desire without planning. Firstly, it is good to start a somewhat drastic change, like a haircut, a new paint for a room, or any change that has a long-term effect. Such a change will boost our energy for the whole season. One good idea is to start a healthy routine in which we gradually build healthy habits. Another thing to consider in the summer plan is maintaining various activities. In addition to traveling and hanging out with family and friends, we can dedicate time to learning something, such as taking an online course on a topic we are interested in or watching documentaries to widen our gaze.

Jeddah is famous for its Roshan windows (Rawashin in plural), which are raised wooden windows with decorated surfaces. They became an emblem of the Hijazi architecture style, which is very dominant in the old town buildings. It is almost impossible to think of Historic Jeddah without picturing those Roshans.

So what’s the history of Rawashin?
Roshan windows came to Jeddah during the Abbassid period and flourished in the Ottoman era. The word “Roshan” is a Persian word derived from “Rosen” which means a balcony or light.

Not only that they give a beautiful design to buildings, but they are also beneficial for the hot climate. Those wooden windows act as a natural air-conditioner as they moderate the heat.

From Spring Issue 2013 – Wilderness

We have all had experiences that have confirmed to us the existence of a Divine Creator. Experiences such as looking up at the night sky and seeing an endless glow of stars, feeling the gentle breeze on a bright spring day, or gazing over the earth from atop a mountain peak have confirmed to many that supreme Intelligence exists. When we have these inspirational moments we are filled with the love and awe of creation.

We use these experiences to raise our vibrations and energize ourselves as we experience the oneness of the universe that God has created.

Then we leave these settings and return to our daily lives. Feeling recharged we enter our day a little lighter with the afterglow of our encounter. How long does this feeling last? Someone cuts you off in traffic; a co-worker gets the
project you wanted or the baby crying.

These encounters should not be limited to those inspiring moments of beauty and awe. In fact, it is at challenging times that we most need to recognize universal oneness in everything, even in a disgruntled spouse or co-worker. Now look at these people as Divine creations. They are not different from the star-studded sky; they are Divine Beings.

Remember the feeling you felt when you had that awe-inspiring moment while feeling the gentle spring breeze? Allow that feeling to return. Feel divine energy and send it out to those involved with you at this moment.

We can disengage from life’s turmoil if we would remember that we are all
one. Everything and everyone is part of the Oneness of the universe.

Taif, a mountainous city southeast of Jeddah, is carpeted with bright pink roses every year —well-known for their aromatic smell. Consequently, an annual rose festival is being held.

The festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Taif municipality, includes various activities such as a beautiful roses parade, a light show, folklore performances, shopping stalls, and perfume-making workshops.

The cultivation of roses has been an ancient practice. Then the time comes to harvest them. After harvesting, the fragrant roses are transformed into rose oil or water.
